Terms of Business

  1. We will only accept your instructions to provide our legalisation services via an order placed on this website or, at our discretion and for existing account-holding customers, via other modes of communication to be agreed between us and you.
  2. We are not responsible for checking that your documents are capable of being legalised with the Hague Apostille.
  3. We must receive your documents by 10.00am in order to deliver them to FCDO office in Milton Keynes that day.
  4. We are open from 9.00am each weekday.  If you use Special Delivery to send us documents you should not use the “9am” service as delivery is likely to be attempted before our office is open.  Our offices close at 5.00pm.
  5. If your document is rejected by the FCDO we will attempt one re-submission assuming you have resolved the issue causing the rejection.  We will not attempt any further re-submissions if the document is rejected again.  If that happens we will return the document to you and refund the FCDO Apostille fee, retaining the Thirsk Winton LLP fee.
  6. The risk in document transmission via the Royal Mail, DX, or other postal/courier services shall lie with you and we take no liability for loss or delay of documents transiting via these services.  You must take adequate precautions to guard against those risks, for example by using services which include insurance against those risks or by implementing separate insurance.
  7. We will use a “reasonable endeavours” approach to turn around your documents in the quickest possible time but cannot guarantee service delivery times owing to the significant number of third parties we rely on in providing you with our legalisation service.
